About Darren

With over a decade of experience spanning three diverse industries, I've led companies through transformative journeys with a focus on human-centered design, UX, and experimentation. Currently, I'm spearheading design initiatives within Keppel's Real Estate Division, exploring the future of integrated spaces alongside cross-functional teams.

Previously, I played a pivotal role as the UX Chapter Lead at Singapore Airlines, overseeing a team of over 25 talented designers, researchers, and writers across five key products. Amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 period, I led the launch of 50+ initiatives, garnering five design awards and refining our design processes and culture. Notably, my design contribution to the right issues digital experience facilitated the securing of S$8.8b in funds.

Before my tenure at SIA, I spent 3.5 years at DBS Innovation Group, where I led experiments contributing to the launch of six digital initiatives and facilitated over 22 hackathons. Our innovative framework fostered bank-wide participation and product roll-outs, extending even to staff in India and Indonesia.

My journey began with Parsnap, a startup revolutionizing last-mile deliveries through mobile app solutions. Prior to that, I honed my skills at Orcadesign Consultants, collaborating with esteemed clients such as Samsung and Singapore Tourism Board.

Beyond my professional endeavors, I'm deeply passionate about mentoring students, participating in design competitions, and engaging with fellow enthusiasts in the realms of design, technology, and innovation. I hold an MSc in Innovation from Imperial College London and a BA(Hons.) in Industrial Design from the National University of Singapore.
